Our Journey

Posted on June 8, 2008 - by trisnadi

Sorry for the delay.

General

This weekend is the much awaited Queen’s birthday long weekend. Unfortunately, with the petrol price being so expensive, we have not planned to do anything adventurous (ie. travelling) this time. I’m already feeling bored! Holidays are precious and should not be spent at home doing nothing (that’s what the weekends are for heheheh). So, I’ve decided to use this time to update our blog, especially about the Japan trip before I totally forget about it.

Yeah I know, we’ve been quite lazy and busy at the same time ever since we got back to Sydney. Plus the thought of updating this blog is overwhelming- there’s so much to write about that we keep on postponing it.

Last Saturday we went to see the Michael Buble concert with two of our friends at the Entertainment Center. It was good, but Michael Buble looked drunk. I don’t know whether it was part of his act or he’s simply like that. I was more thrilled about the opening act by Naturally 7. They’re awesome!!!

Then on Wednesday night we went to see Phantom of the Opera at Lyric Theatre (Starcity). I’ve been waiting for so long to see that musical and I am glad to have watched it. I read on SMH that Anthony Warlow and Ana Marina were sick the previous week, so they were replaced by their understudies. Luckily we were able to see them perform that evening.

On board the Singapore Airlines A380

General holiday Technology

On our recent trip to Japan we had the chance to fly the Singapore Airlines’ latest toy, the new Airbus A380 aircraft which is now fully operational serving Sydney-Singapore route. Personally this is one of the main reason we I really looked forward to the Japan trip. We’ve decided to write a post specifically about this and provide you with helpful tips.

Japan Day 1 – Tokyo

We arrived at Narita airport (Tokyo) feeling tired and dazed but excited. It was a rainy day, much like Sydney when we left. Everything went smoothly until the moment we wanted to validate the JR Pass – we forgot to bring it!!! somehow it accidentally got left behind at home. Aargh!

Food Recipes

Pan-fried fish with salsa verde

A couple of weeks ago Y tried this recipe from SMH by Steve Manfredi. It’s pretty easy and quite tasty too. Straying away from the original recipe we used Blue Eye Cod instead of Barramundi. Just make sure that the fish that you use is fresh and bought on the day (bonus point if you [...]

Breakfast @ Bills

Last Saturday after we went to the flower market, we decided to have breakfast at Bills. Some of you may heard about their famous scrambled egg. It is so well known among foodies that there’s a saying “Your trip to Sydney isn’t complete without breakfast at Bills” Bills is located at Darlinghurst with very modest [...]

Japan Day 3 – Harajuku, Shibuya, Ginza

Our third day in Japan had been reserved for exploring the centre and south-west side of Tokyo. We started the day with a train ride to the massive Tokyo Station and made a detour to the Daimaru food basement. Aah, I could cry tears of joy just from looking at all the beautiful (but pricey) [...]

General Wedding

We’re famous!

We both agree that our wedding day was full of smiles and because we took lots of photos for the entire day, our jaw was kinda stiff at the end of the night and we thought that’s the closest we’d ever get from being famous (you know.. being surrounded by flashlights and all). Well that’s [...]
